The Notaries Society has given guidance on fees to ensure that notarial work is carried out to a proper standard. Colin's charges are at the lower end of the scale of fees in accordance with this guidance.
The minimum fee for a single transaction is £100. This is based upon 15 - 20 minutes of time. If longer than this is required then the charge increses pro-rata. VAT is not charged.
Often notarial documents need to be legalised, usually by being sent to The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, but sometimes also to various embassies in London. This can be arranged for you at additional cost and usually fees can be quoted before the appointment.
The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and various embassies charge a fee for legalising a document.
Clients will always receive a costs estimate prior to work commencing. Sometimes it may be necessary for the documents to be seen before an accurate fee estimate is offered.
